For World Book Day, Primary 1 enjoyed listening to stories from our storytellers: Mrs Haig, Mrs Laird and Mrs Girvan. We made our own bookmarks, entered a drawing competition and went outside on a treasure hunt! P1 received question cards on the hunt with clues relating to characters from popular children’s books. If they answered correctly, they earned a book token!

In the afternoon the nursery came to visit as part of their transition and Mrs Laird read us the ‘Tiger who came to Tea’ and ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. Then we went along to the hall and enjoyed cups of hot chocolate under the twinkly lights. The whole school joined us afterwards and the kids paired up to share story books.

It was a fabulous day – thank you to all our storytellers for volunteering their time!
