This week is ‘Walk to School’ week and all children are encouraged to walk to school or walk part of the way (from a designated drop off point such as the park, the local shop etc) into school. The JRSO committee have provided every child with a sticky label in their homework jotter to tick off the days they manage to walk to school.
The Highland Council have also provided every class with a ‘Go For It’ reward scheme for children that walk or cycle to school over a 50 day period. Class teachers record all those that have and prizes are awarded to children that manage this. More information is available here.
P1 should tick off the days they manage to walk or cycle to school in their homework jotters.
As part of being healthy and getting outdoors this term, I have also provided P1 with a minibeast hunt sheet that they can complete at home either in the garden or on a walk outside. It can be downloaded and printed here minibeast hunt. Alternatively your child can draw a simple pictures of minibeasts they see or find outside in their homework jotter.
